Ermine Ameraucana’s and Eggers

Ermine Line — Rare and Beautiful Egg Layers

Ermine Ameraucana

The Ermine Ameraucana is a rare and elegant variety of the Ameraucana breed, featuring a bold black-and-white “ermine” feather pattern. These birds have the classic Ameraucana look—pea comb, muffs, and beard—and lay beautiful medium blue eggs. Docile, cold-hardy, and reliable, Ermine Ameraucanas are ideal for backyard flocks and breeders looking for both visual appeal and productivity.

Highlights:

  • Purebred variety
  • Lays blue eggs (180–220 per year)
  • Calm temperament
  • Cold-hardy and great foragers

Ermine Green Egger (Second Generation)

Our second-generation Ermine Green Eggers are bred from Ermine Ameraucana and hybrid layers, creating hardy, high-performing birds that lay large green eggs in varied shades. These birds maintain the striking ermine feather pattern with improved laying consistency and vigor. Great for those wanting green eggs without sacrificing beauty or temperament.

Highlights:

  • Second-generation hybrid
  • Lays green eggs (220–260 per year)
  • Hardy and active
  • Friendly and low-maintenance

Ermine Olive Egger (First Generation)

Our first-generation Ermine Olive Eggers are a premium hybrid cross between our striking Ermine Ameraucana and rich egg-laying French Black Copper Marans. This pairing results in hardy, attractive birds that lay stunning olive green eggs, often with deep, earthy tones and occasional speckling. These birds inherit the signature ermine plumage, muffed face, and upright posture from their Ameraucana parent, combined with the Marans’ robust frame and strong laying genetics.

Highlights:

  • First-generation cross: Ermine Ameraucana × French Black Copper Marans
  • Egg Color: Olive green (possible speckling)
  • Egg Production: 200–240 eggs/year
  • Temperament: Friendly, curious, and cold-hardy
  • Unique plumage with excellent hybrid vigor
  • Feathering on legs and feet is possible in Olive Eggers

Egg Color Guide

  • Ermine Ameraucana: Blue eggs ranging from sky to medium blue with a smooth matte finish.
  • Ermine Green Egger: Green eggs in shades from mint to sage, sometimes with a soft brown tint.
  • Ermine Olive Egger: Deep olive to mossy green eggs, occasionally speckled with a rich matte sheen.
